About This Pipe
One of things that excites me about Scott Klein's work isn't something that easy to convey in pictures, nor in a succinct, easy-to-digest description. Scott's work treads a certain line, clearly displaying an acute attention to detail, in both form and style. With this Asymmetric Tomato, the overall experience of natural ergonomics, tactile interest, and playful, balanced asymmetry calls to mind certain pieces of the Japanese school, and the pairing of contrast-finished inner-rim and dark, dark sandblast with a bright silver wedding band accent is seriously choice. It also marks the first instance we've seen of the American carver working with the precious metal, and we're quite excited to see it added to his repertoire.
