About This Pipe
Il Duca pipes are handmade in Italy by Max Rimensi, the name "Il Duca" honoring the historic rulers of his hometown Ferrara. His design style often favors slender shapes, exuding a high degree of refinement and elegance and spanning classic and more avant-garde shapes alike. This Acorn rendition beautifully showcase Rimensi's elegant and sleek shaping style in a delightful, virgin finish.
Though shaped in Acorn form, the overall stance and gesture of this piece mirrors Rimensi's signature Bulldog and Rhodesian design: The stem and shank curling gracefully through the heel and pitching the bowl at a slight forward cant. Instead of a crisply tapered Bulldog bowl, though, the Italian artisan has here carved a more organic and supple Acorn design, the rim expanding in rounded for to overhang just slightly above the transition. Free of stain, the briar has been left in its natural tones and will accrue a patina throughout the years this piece is smoked.
