About This Pipe
A slightly different sort of Strawberry than those we've seen from Jeff previously, this Origami piece presents a rather floral style of shaping to its bowl. There's a slight paneled effect created by two firm ridges, flowing as crisp, clean lines from the rim's flanks through to a small spur near the transition. A trim shank is then joined by three knuckles of bamboo extension, its slight coloring pairing perfectly with the dark sandblast of the stummel for a palette that is consistent and clean. Trim and neat, Jeff's usual muscular shaping is not absent in this piece, but is most obvious at the plump, high-set waistline near the bowl's rim. As far as an example of his skill with bamboo, as well as classic Danish shaping, it's an excellent addition.
