About This Pipe
An icon within the Danish pipe making world, Hans "Former" Nielsen has been crafting unique and beautiful pipes for over six decades. His pipes are known for their detailed line work, intricate designs, and outstanding functionalism. This bent Apple by Former exhibits those traits, combining various textures, hues, and materials to make a piece worthy of any collection. The fore of this pipe is traditionally inclined, with the plump bowl sitting atop a full-bodied heel as its walls rise to the rim. Former deviates from his typical design cues and the classic Apple silhouette at the transition, where four panels create a diamond profile along the shank and saddle stem, similar to what one may see on a Bulldog. Said shank is adorned with an accent of pearly Ivorite at its base before connecting to the shoulders of the jet-black vulcanite mouthpiece that subtly bends to the bit. The sleekness of the stem is juxtaposed by the textured stummel, sandblasted to highlight impressive growth rings, save for the rim, which is finished smooth for contrast.
