About This Pipe
Though Tonni Nielsen does make other sorts of Dublins, there are two types he seems to favor. One is tight of bend and, regardless of whether the shank is slim or broad, clearly bowl-centric. The other is this sort, where the shank takes up quite a bit more of the profile, and the bend is slighter. In this shape-type I suspect a key ingredient to still keeping the profile balanced is in the line of the heel and forward face, which is of a quickly lifting sort. While this makes for a trimmer sort of taper to the bowl, it also lends the bowl more forcefulness, and really draws the eye to the neat plane and outer edge of the rim.
