About This Pipe

Ukrainian artisan Konstantin Shekita brings precision and an eye for fine detail to a wide range of gorgeous pipes, from traditional Anglo-French classics to expressive sculptural designs. This bent Dublin is among his more conservative offerings, yet it carries the unmistakable artistic sensibility that defines his work.

The composition centers on a tall, full-bodied bowl supported by a sinuous shank-and-stem arrangement — an ovoid shank sweeping upward and tapering into a demurely curved stem. The bowl itself flares from a lifted heel, growing thick, insulating walls that blossom into a broad, plateau-crowned rim. That rim overhangs the bowl slightly, giving the pipe an organic, almost drooping profile when viewed from the side. The lifted heel also imparts a subtle forward cant to the bowl, and together with the arcing shank and stem, it lends the whole composition a sense of dynamic movement. A contrast-stained sandblast finishes the stummel, throwing the grain into sharp relief and adding considerable visual depth.
