Smooth Freehand Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe

Calling this Klein design a freehand Dublin seems a bit of an understatement; the bowl does taper, yes, but beyond that there's more similarities to be found with say a Tokutomi Blowfish (balanced asymmetry), a wilder Florov design (emphasis on ridges and panels, plus of course the dramatic stem-base), or certain Grechukhins (tight-knit and pronounced, compact stoutness). There's even a nod to Lars Ivarsson in there, in the ridge sweeping along the left side of the shank and quickly rising up the left-rear of the bowl, though for a fresh change of pace Scott blended that in with a most decidedly not teardrop-shaped shank cross-section. Despite being quite an out-there design, with a lot going on in a very concentrated space, Scott not only managed to give this briar an artful balance to its ever-shifting lines, and a killer display of flame grain, birdseye, and partial plateau, but more importantly he somehow also managed to make it still comfortably arranged in hand.
