Smooth Billiard with Mammoth Tobacco Pipe

A delightfully supple and affable straight Billiard, this piece is a wonderful example of how Gustavo Cunha reinterprets classic shapes into his own creative style. Though not one of his signature pencil-shanked Billiards, this one does still feature quite a slender shank and stem combination behind the upright bowl. Lent a subtle taper and slight bulging at the flanks, the bowl exhibits a gentle disposition that does well to soften the shape's otherwise rigid profile. Accented only with a trim, dual-toned band of mammoth bone, the presentation remains relatively understated, crowned with Cunha's signature bevel at the rim.
