Sandblasted Tomato with Masur Birch Tobacco Pipe

Scott Klein has here presented us with an active, yet robust Tomato, with a specific attention paid to line-work, especially through the use of a crisp Ivarsson-esque tear-drop shank, the characteristic line running the length of the shank before becoming one with the ring-grain adorned bowl's left cheek. As for the grain, it's rich and dense, providing a texture in hand that is quite stimulating. The dark, textured finish is here accented with a smart touch of masur birch, offering a subtle element of contrast to this lovely piece. It's a sitter, as well.
