About This Pipe

From what started as a simple hobby of making duck calls from bamboo, Jason Mouton gained experience in woodworking that would eventually help shape his pipe-making career. Based in Gueydan, Louisiana, Jason Mouton's shaping style is driven by his keen eye for detail and a passion for studying various artisan works. His pipes reflect a strong American design influence with their compact and muscular builds.

This bent Apple is a perfect showcase of that design philosophy, displaying a muscular character within a compact Nosewarmer profile. Measuring well under four and a half inches, it carries a surprising amount of presence for its size. The bowl features plump, flowing contours that establish the profile, while the wide, squat shank reinforces the piece's bold proportions. The nearly rectangular stem is particularly striking, offering a unique shape that complements the overall composition while creating appealing areas of negative space through its push-style engineering. Dressed in a deep mahogany stain, the stummel highlights clusters of vibrant birdseye grain throughout the underside of the composition. With its distinctive silhouette and compact practicality, this is a handsome piece that would stand out on any pipe rack while serving as an ideal companion for the road.
