Though he hails from Italy, Davide Iafisco is a pipe maker who draws inspiration from Danish, Japanese, and American design traditions. His various influences are channeled through his personal creative prism, resulting in designs that are singularly his own. As one might expect from its title, this Nosewarmer Apple is one of Iafisco's more compact offerings, possessing an incredibly reserved footprint, measuring less than five inches in total length. That being said, this piece lacks nothing in terms of substance and boasts a broad, Pot-like bowl. Said bowl stands atop a wide heel and grows thick walls that taper upward to a taut, smoothly polished rim. A wide transition follows the bowl and marks the start of a trim shank that marries a sleek saddle stem at a junction accented with silver. A crisp sandblast completes the ensemble and highlights rippling grain throughout the stummel.
