An undeniably talented artisan, Cornelius Manz has been a pipe smoker since the age of eighteen, but it wasn't until his 30th birthday, on a trip to Denmark, did the distinguished craftsmanship decided to try his hand at pipe making. Within a few short years, Manz was crafting superb pipes out of the finest materials available, his style influenced by the legends of the Danish school. Drawing inspiration from the natural world, Manz crafts pipes that are gestural and highly organic, with each piece distinguished by impeccable accenting and finishing work.

This Acorn, in keeping with Manz's distinctive style, boasts a plump, supple bowl that rises from a firm, slightly pronounced heel to a broad, plateau-crowned rim. Said bowl is paired to a trim shank that's extended by four knuckles of bamboo, each node of which is perfectly spaced from the transition to the saddle's stem's shoulder, fostering a visual rhythm through the composition's aft side. Curvaceous and gestural, this piece boasts an alluring silhouette, one that's equal parts sleek and fluid. Dressed in a honeyed smooth finish, the stummel reveals a gorgeous construction of flame grain that rises from the heel to the rim, the finish's warm hues complemented by the dense grass's coloration.
