About This Pipe
If you're looking for something of extraordinary quality and different from anything your friends may have, this pipe may be your answer. There's a pronounced upward energy to the piece, and contributing to that is the curve of the top of the shank, which subtly expands upward to the briar collar, which is a stylized ridge that takes on an arrow shape when viewed from beneath. That collar steps down in elegant curves at the transition, where it gives rise to the organically rounded and elongated bowl, creating a neat floral effect. Excellent grain is visible under the ruby stain, which is contrasted by the buckeye burl fitment at the end of the shank. There are many ways to hold this pipe, all interesting, and all highlighting the myriad design decisions that work curiously together to build a unified whole. I'm betting you don't own anything like this, but here's your chance.
