About This Pipe
We've seen all manner of Volcano renditions from Tonni Nielsen, from crisply-structured, almost architectural iterations to those that are softly paneled, delightfully asymmetrical, and organic. This fellow, then, would fall somewhere between the two, though closer to the realm of structured, and with no shortage of elegant curvature to the flanks. The aforementioned curvature, in profile and when combined with that of the underside, results in a composition that isn't lacking for implied forward motion or a strong wave-like disposition. Despite the curved underside, it balances neatly at the transition, and with Tonni's choice of finish being a deep, rich chestnut, this possesses a dark, warm timbre. A fantastic briar here.
