Smooth Volcano Tobacco Pipe

Generally speaking, it's assumed a Volcano should sit, except in cases where artistic style has required curves and lines that made getting the pipe to keep itself upright, right out. Looking at the gentle convexity of this briar's underside, the graceful lift of both bowl and shank, I would. be completely wrong to expect that it doesn't sit. It does. It balances perfectly, in a graceful stance, on a point just ahead of the transition - stem high, bowl just-right forward. Credit is due where credit is due: Tonni created a lovely curving, canted Volcano, a design that wouldn't appear to have compromised anything in terms of form or line to bother with such mundane practicalities as, "But, does it sit?" And he made it a fine sitter anyway.
