About This Pipe
One of Portugal's few artisan pipe makers, Sabina Santos crafts gorgeous shapes that are uniquely designed, expertly engineered, and handsomely finished. This bent Bulldog is a fetching showcase of Sabina's craftsmanship, being a embellished and modern interpretation of the classic form. Up front, a muscular bowl stands atop a wide heel and grows thick walls that quickly flare to a low-set, beadline-wrapped waist. From there, those walls taper dramatically to a flat rim, their protracted narrowing lending the upper bowl a cone-like appearance. A remarkably trim diamond shank follows the bowl, or more precisely, emerges from the bowl itself, extending in a sweeping curve from the bowl's heel to a demurely curved saddle stem. A stylish accent of Durat marks the junction and lends a pop of vibrant color to the pipe's otherwise muted palette, along with the blue vulcanite mouthpiece it adjoins. A crisp, ruby-tinged sandblast completes the ensemble and highlights rippling grain and stunning birdseye throughout the stummel.
