About This Pipe
This may be the finest sandblasted finish I've seen from Brad Pohlmann, and one of the finest I've seen period. The golden/walnut contrast stain, the just-right depth, and the well-defined detail of grain structure just come together beautifully. At certain angles and when hit with the right light, the color and texture even create a chatoyancy-like effect. I also really like the way Brad tastefully framed the rim in a narrow ribbon of smooth polish, and made said frame appear more natural by allowing the sandblast to weather its inner edge a bit.
And yes, aside from looking very, very pretty, this Pohlmann bent Dublin does also sit, and very well at that, despite Brad going quite long and dramatic in the arc and flare of the shank.
