About This Pipe
In the bowl itself, this is a classic Benni Jorgensen take on the Acorn shape, featuring an extremely broad, high-set waistline with a smooth, almost arcing taper down to the elegant, lifting heel. Yet once you reach the shank, things get a little different, swapping out his typical, heavily pinched oval shank for a stout, flared variety — erupting into a disc-like lip along the shank end, which is accentuated all the more by the rounded stem base. It's a feature we haven't seen Benni incorporate into his Acorn shape in quite some time, resulting in a very powerful silhouette overall. That inherent power resonates strongly through the vibrant contrast stain, pulling back the curtain to reveal a splendid array of flame and straight grain covering the briar from beginning to end. Beautiful piece.
