Partially Sandblasted Acorn Tobacco Pipe

Before turning to pipe making, Ukrainian artisan Konstantin Shekita worked as a stuntman in Russian films. He began crafting pipes at 23, starting in stem polishing at the Gold Gate factory and progressing to shaping and finishing before going independent in 1997. Today, he produces around 200 pipes annually, each marked by precise craftsmanship, rich finishes, and a versatile style.

In this Acorn, Shekita leans into a Danish sense of design, most evident in the aft portion of the profile. The shank flares dramatically, following the flowing, arching line of the stummel before terminating in a domed face. It meets a gently curved saddle stem of warm vulcanite, with a touch of negative space between shank and stem that creates a visual break while reinforcing the pipe's overall lines.

The bowl is noticeably canted, with soft, rounded contours that sit comfortably in hand. While this piece forgoes the Acorn's typical spur-like heel in favor of a more lifted base, it retains an organic character that still evokes its namesake. The finish complements the form: most of the stummel is dressed in a light sandblast, revealing stacked growth rings that enhance the pipe's forward momentum, while the rim and shank face are left smooth to showcase striking clusters of birdseye in a warm auburn hue.
