About This Pipe
Alexander Hasty is an American artisan who fuses design influences from both American and Danish schools, demonstrating a preference for the muscularity of the former and the elegant curves of the latter. Such shaping is perfectly showcased with this handsome bent Egg, a design with a plump, forward-urging bowl, a cheeked transition, and a steady curvature throughout. The bowl's angled rim starts this piece's fluid gesture, driving the totality of the bowl forward, visually, along with the lifted heel. An upturned shank lifts out of the transition and joins a trim mouthpiece at a mount of dark horn. Said mount complements the complexion of the stem and fosters a visual cohesiveness throughout the pipe's furthest aft. Dressing the stummel is an inky sandblast that showcases handsome growth rings along the bowl, save for the rim, which is left smooth for contrast.
