About This Pipe
This is perhaps the most conservative form we've received from Ray Kurusu: a firm, upright Dublin shape of a rather compact, abbreviated style. While his various Elephant's Foot and Blowfish designs are impressive in their own right, there's something to be said for the way Ray handles a straight classic. The bowl, transition, and abrupt shank all feature a bit of extra stoutness, yet the design remains quite dynamic in profile due to the subtle bevel of the rim, the soft curvature of the horn mount, and the stark contrast with the trim, tapered stem. As far as execution goes, Ray's made sure to let the grain speak for itself: fine, fine, fine flame grain all around.
