An Outstanding English Blend
I really like G. L. Pease Maltese Falcon! This is easily a 5-star blend for me. It has everything I enjoy in a good English mixture—rich, smoky Latakia, plenty of depth, and a wonderful natural sweetness that keeps it from becoming too dry or one-dimensional. There’s a nice balance between the smoky, earthy character and the sweeter Virginia notes, with just enough spice and complexity to keep every bowl interesting. What really stands out to me is how full-flavored and satisfying it is without being overwhelming. The flavors develop as you work your way down the bowl, and I find myself enjoying it more and more as I smoke it. If you enjoy rich, flavorful English blends with some sweetness and complexity, Maltese Falcon is definitely worth trying. This is one I’ll gladly keep in my rotation—and one I can see myself buying again and again. Flavor: 5/5 Complexity: 5/5 Overall: 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommended!

Fantastic!!!
Plum Pudding Bourbon Barrel Aged is a version of SPC's popular Plum Pudding blend. It's an English mixture of Latakia, Cavendish, Virginias, Perique, and Oriental tobaccos, but in this Bourbon Barrel Aged version, it's blended and packed into charred oak Kentucky bourbon barrels, aged 30 days, pressed into cakes, and crumble cake cut. Packaged in two-ounce tins, each individual tin includes a bourbon barrel stave to preserve the blend's smoky, spicy, and complex character.

Cornell & Diehl Mad Fiddler Flake — ★★☆☆☆ 2/5
I really wanted to like Mad Fiddler Flake, especially because I typically really enjoy Cornell & Diehl blends. Unfortunately, this one just didn't work for me. I give it 2 out of 5 stars. The biggest issue for me is the flavor. There's something about the overall taste of this blend that simply doesn't agree with my palate. I know plenty of pipe smokers may enjoy its unique character, but personally, I found myself struggling to enjoy the bowl rather than wanting to come back for more. I also noticed that it irritates the back of my throat, which made the smoking experience less enjoyable. I tried taking it slow, but that irritation was still noticeable enough to bother me. Another thing worth mentioning is the nicotine hit. This blend packs quite a punch! If you enjoy stronger tobaccos with plenty of nicotine, that may actually be a positive. For me, though, the combination of the strong nicotine, throat irritation, and a flavor profile I didn't particularly enjoy made it difficult to appreciate. I want to emphasize that this is just my personal taste and humble opinion. Pipe tobacco is incredibly subjective, and what doesn't work for me may be somebody else's favorite blend. I also don't consider this a reflection on Cornell & Diehl as a whole, because I typically really enjoy their tobacco. Unfortunately, Mad Fiddler Flake just isn't for me, and I probably won't purchase it again. Flavor: 2/5 Smoothness: 2/5 Nicotine Strength: 5/5 Overall: ★★☆☆☆ A strong and unique blend that I'm sure has its fans, but the flavor, throat irritation, and heavy nicotine hit make this one a pass for me.

Best non-aromatic I've ever had
I waited for two years to get my hands on some of this stuff and finally did a few weeks ago. Believe the hype. This stuff is really, really good. It's a shame it's so hard to get.

Another hobbyist described this as a "blissfully sweet and mild Virginia flake." I couldn't agree more. Really enjoyed this. I will def order more of this once I run out.
Dunhill - Nightcap
Peterson's Nightcap — ★★★★☆ 4/5
Peterson's Nightcap is a very good, full-bodied English blend that I definitely enjoy. I give this one a solid 4 out of 5 stars. Right from the beginning, you know you're smoking something with some strength and character. The Latakia provides plenty of deep, smoky, earthy flavor, while the Virginias bring some natural sweetness. The Orientals add that woody, slightly spicy complexity, and the Perique gives it an additional peppery kick and depth. Compared with some of my favorite sweeter English blends, Nightcap strikes me as darker, stronger, and less sweet. That's not necessarily a bad thing—it's just a different experience. When I'm in the mood for something bold, robust, smoky, and satisfying, Nightcap definitely delivers. It also lives up to its name. This isn't necessarily a blend I'd reach for first thing in the morning. To me, it's better suited for slowing down at the end of the day with a good pipe, especially when I want something substantial. My only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is personal preference. I tend to enjoy English blends that have a little more sweetness and creaminess alongside the Latakia. Nightcap leans more toward the strong, dark, earthy, and spicy side of the spectrum. Still, this is an excellent English blend and one I would gladly smoke again. Quiet Nights indeed!
This is a blend that often gets compared to Penzance (which is near impossible to get) and for good reason. Quiet Nights is absolutely one of my favorite pipe tobaccos. Easy 5 stars! This is the kind of blend I reach for when I want something rich, smoky, sweet, deep, and full of flavor. The Latakia gives it that wonderful smoky, campfire-like character, while the Virginias bring a dark natural sweetness. The Orientals add a little spice and complexity, and the Perique gives it just enough extra depth and character to keep things interesting. What I especially love about Quiet Nights is the balance between the smokiness and sweetness. It’s definitely a full-flavored English blend, but it isn’t just a Latakia bomb. There are layers of flavor that seem to develop throughout the bowl—smoky, earthy, slightly spicy, naturally sweet, and sometimes almost creamy. Being a pressed blend also seems to give everything a deeper, more married-together flavor. Take your time with it, sip it slowly, and it really shines. The name Quiet Nights fits it perfectly. This is exactly the kind of tobacco I want in my pipe at the end of the day when I can sit down, slow down, and enjoy a good long smoke. If you like sweet, rich, full-flavored English blends, I highly recommend giving Quiet Nights a try. This is one I plan on keeping around. Really strong, but good!
I love the pipe hobby. Discovering new types of tobaccos is fun! This was the first plug I've ever tried, and I really like it. Preparing the bowl with my jackknife was half the fun! Really strong tobacco though (proceed with caution if you're new to the hobby). I got a big nic hit with this one and was glad I had just finished eating when I smoked it (everybody's different though). I'm glad I bought it. Had to "sip it."

I was pleasantly surprised the first time I packed one of these coins in my pipe and lit up. I really enjoy the naturally sweet (but not overly sweet) taste of this tobacco. Believe the hype. I highly recommend.

Was surprised by how good this was. A very pleasant experience. The nougat flavor was not as strong as I thought it would be, but still a very enjoyable smoke. Glad I tried it.

Really, really good!
I tried this because a lot of hobbyists compare this to Penzance (which is very difficult to get your hands on). One of my favorite non-aromatics. I will def be keeping this in my rotation.

Surprised by this one
I'm glad I tried this one. I was surprised by how good it was. This tobacco helped me get a better handle on what it means for a tobacco to be complex. Different in a good way from all the other non-aromatics I've tried. Would buy again.

If you like cigars and latakia, you'll probably love this blend. I've never smoked cigars, so I was curious about this blend. I tried it. I thought it was good - but am thinking this one may need some time to grow on me. Pretty strong. Cigar-like room note (no surprise there). I don't regret buying it. Worth a try.

This is a really good cherry aromatic (MHO). Mine came not too wet. Stayed lit for the most part, and had little to no tongue bite. Nice room note too.

Sutliff Crème Brûlée is an absolutely delicious aromatic and an easy 5 stars for me! If you like your pipe tobacco sweet, creamy, rich, and full of dessert-like flavor, this blend is hard to beat. From the moment you open the bag, you know you're in for something sweet. The aroma is incredible, and that carries over nicely into the smoke. I get a wonderful combination of creamy vanilla, caramel, and brown-sugar sweetness that really does remind me of the dessert it's named after. What I especially enjoy about Crème Brûlée is just how rich and flavorful it is. Some aromatics smell fantastic in the pouch but don't deliver nearly as much flavor when smoked. This one actually gives me plenty of the sweetness I'm looking for in an aromatic. It's definitely on the sweeter side—and that's exactly why I like it! When I'm reaching for an aromatic, I'm usually looking for something completely different from my English blends. I want something smooth, creamy, sweet, and indulgent, and Crème Brûlée checks all those boxes. The room note is another big winner. This is the kind of tobacco that has that classic, pleasant pipe-tobacco aroma that even people who don't smoke a pipe may appreciate. If you enjoy sweet dessert aromatics, especially vanilla and caramel flavors, Sutliff Crème Brûlée is one I highly recommend. It's almost like having dessert in a pipe! The Cavendish helps round everything out and gives the smoke a wonderfully smooth, almost creamy quality. The name Plum Pudding really fits. There's a dark, rich sweetness to it that sometimes reminds me of dried fruit or a rich dessert, but it never crosses over into being an aromatic. It's still very much a full-flavored English/Balkan-style tobacco. I especially enjoy how the flavor develops throughout the bowl. One moment I'm getting smoky and earthy, then something sweet and creamy, followed by a little spice. There's enough complexity here that I can slow down and really pay attention to the different flavors, but it's also simply delicious when I just want to relax and enjoy my pipe. If you enjoy rich, sweet, full-flavored English blends, Plum Pudding is definitely worth trying. Sutliff Z50 Black Cordial is an absolutely delicious aromatic and an easy 5 stars for me! If you're looking for something sweet, rich, smooth, and packed with flavor, this one delivers. What immediately stands out to me is that wonderful dark, sweet cordial flavor. It has a rich dessert-like character that reminds me of dark fruit, cherry cordial, and creamy sweetness, all wrapped around a smooth tobacco base. It's sweet without being harsh, and there's enough tobacco character underneath the flavoring to keep it enjoyable throughout the bowl. One thing I really appreciate about Black Cordial is how smooth and easygoing it is. This isn't a tobacco I have to work hard to enjoy. I can load up a bowl, sit back, relax, and enjoy that rich sweetness from beginning to end. The aroma is another big plus. It has that classic aromatic quality that smells almost as good as it tastes, making it a great choice when I'm in the mood for something completely different from my usual English blends. For me, this is what a good aromatic should be: sweet, flavorful, smooth, and satisfying. It doesn't need to be complicated—it just needs to taste good, and Black Cordial certainly does! I LOVE this stuff!!! Smells and tastes amazing. Really wet in the tin however. I usually let it dry for a bit before loading a bowl, or I find myself having to relight quite a bit (but still worth it).

I am (at the time of writing this review) new to the hobby of pipe smoking. That being said, I have enjoyed mostly aromatics. This was a very enjoyable smoke for me - even though it was not what I was used to. I can see why so many really like it.
