About This Pipe Tobacco

Sutliff's Z50 Black Cordial blend of black and light Cavendish comes well recommended as one of the better cherry aromatics out there, providing a sweet cherry-with-a-hint-of-vanilla flavor as well as room note, combined with user-friendly burn properties (read: it lights up readily and takes work to make bite).

The aroma/room note on this blend is great. The cherry/vanilla blend comes together in a way that emphasizes richness and depth of flavor over artificial strength which is a huge plus, and carries over to the room note

The actually smoking of this, though, is a very bland experience. The first "smoking hot air" experience of mine.

Will appreciate it if someone else lights a bowl but i probably won't be doing so again myself...Read More

A good cherry cased tobacco is hard to find and I am glad I found this one. Mild, with a distinct, but not overpowering cherry flavor, more pronounced in the pouch note than in the flavor. There are some interesting things you can do to this tobacco to bring different aromatics out from it. Depending on time; you can keep moist or to allow it to dry out naturally over a few days to a week or so. You will experience a pleasurable degree of variable outcomes; experiment and enjoy. Additionally, not once have I heard complaints of others; and people always approach me about their grandpa or family member whom were distant memories until a spark of nostalgia brought through from a familiar aroma. I can see them always cherishing that memory that had escaped them from so long ago. This has been my favorite tobacco for over 7 years now and stopped looking for any others. Finally tried this Black Cordial, and I agree with the majority here, that it's a superb aromatic. It has a very natural cherry/vanilla flavor, not very sweet, and is very smooth. You don't really get much natural tobacco flavor -- that's not what this is for. It's so pleasant that I have to remind myself to slow down, lest I heat up my bowl from over-puffing. I love the smell of cherry tobacco, and this one hits all the notes for pleasant room notes. My wife loves the smell as well!...but... it still has a somewhat disappointing flavor to me, as every cherry tobacco I've smoked seems to. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I keep a bit on hand when I'm smoking around folks that don't appreciate the smell of my normal English blends in the summer and around the holidays....Read More
