About This Pipe
The dramatically flaring shank face echoes the texture of the rim on this elongated Dublin from Lasse Skovgaard, that element presented with a concave aspect while the rim counterbalances it with a convex disposition. Craggy plateau at both ends offer distinct contrast to the smooth stummel, which is draped with tight flame grain in concert with the flow of the shape. The transition is Horn-like and gradual, introducing a long shank and easy curvature for in-hand comfort, while the undulating rim follows the natural inclinations of the original burl with a dramatic dip downward at the far flank. It's a design rife with contrasting texture, smooth lines, and an organic and natural deportment that is difficult to resist.
