Smooth Bent Dublin with Bamboo and Pau Brasil Ring Tobacco Pipe

Brazilian pipe maker Flávia Rodrigues breathes new life into classic pipe shapes, marrying bold expression with expert engineering. Inspired by nature, she often utilizes organic materials to accent her pipes — especially materials native to Brazil, such as Brazilian jabuticaba, horn, and precious metals. This bent Dublin, for instance, is decorated with pau brasil, or Brazilwood, in addition to bamboo and it showcases Rodrigues' penchant for offering refreshing takes on classic shapes.

Subtlety is the word that immediately comes to mind when first taking in this bent Dublin. From the incredibly understated flare of the bowl to the almost imperceptible downturn of the stem's bit, there's an admirable sense of measured control throughout the composition. The sleekness of the tall, tubular bowl is offset by the organic rhythm of the bamboo shank, which features three bumpy rhizomes that not only offer an enticing touch, but also entrance the eye with their beautiful, natural character. A ring of Brazilwood adorns the junction, adding another organic flourish before giving way to the gently downturned vulcanite stem.
