About This Pipe

A long-time pipe smoker and incredibly talented pipe maker, Sam Adebayo boasts a vast and varied portfolio of masterfully crafted smoking instruments. The artisan was drawn to pipe smoking as a way to emulate some of his favorite jazz musicians, Charles Mingus and Eric Dolphy. After taking up smoking as a hobby, Adebayo was then drawn to pipe making as a way to craft the pipes he always dreamed of smoking, but couldn't afford at the time. Over the years, he has developed a keen eye for carving, producing handsome smoking instruments such as this bent Dublin.

This is a lithe, elegant take on the classic shape, with a tall, gently flaring bowl with a forward-ebbing posture established by the gracefully flowing shank-and-stem arrangement. The length and curvature of said arrangement promotes a relaxed smoking posture, while the bowl's forward slant and rippling waves of ring grain make for a satisfying in-hand presence. A crisp sandblast emphasizes said ring grain, and a warm, earthy stain lends the piece an inviting air.
