About This Pipe
The Cutty is another classical shape that Tom's adapted and made part and parcel to his signature style. Emphasizing the bowl's strong forward cant and lithesome gesture in profile, it's quite an elegant rendition — albeit one that still offers a good bit of chamber and stout insulating walls to match. While his beautiful, Danish-style sandblasts and signature contrast stains often receive the most attention, Tom also produces some of the nicest rusticated finishes in the world. His application leaves the briar craggy and stimulating, while (much like his pure sandblasts) still maintaining the clean lines of whatever shape he's working with. In this particular case, we find a beautiful pairing of his signature Cutty shape and rusticated finish, making for quite a charming piece all around.
