About This Pipe
No, the Florov Tadpole is another creature, or I suppose we should say another take on the same creature, entirely. Tightly curled, complex and turbulent of line and form, this Alex Florov design is much more involved, complex, and dynamic all at once. From the paired roll and fold of the flicking, turning tail and the body's underside, to the just-right asymmetry of the rounded plain and inner, concave bevel of the rim, to the slender bridges joining natural plateau and finely polished bowl, it's easy to see why other artisans haven't done the Tadpole this way: because it's a hell of a lot of work, with about hundred things that could go wrong. Alex was up to every task however, which is as expected.
