Smooth Long Shank Poker Tobacco Pipe

Typically whenever we see a Tom Eltang Poker, we immediately recall the Danish carver's signature "smoking machine." However, that's not the Poker rendition we see here. Tom's signature shape features a sleek, featherweight disposition of tall, slender bowl and streamlined shank-and-stem configuration. This smooth version, though, is decidedly lengthier and significantly taller, the towering, cylindrical bowl housing nearly two inches of chamber depth. Said bowl exhibits a hint of forward cant in profile, its low-set transition and flattened heel providing the necessary balance to allow this piece to sit unassisted.

The grain orientation is simply sublime with streaks of flame grain climbing the height of the bowl and beautifully illuminated by one of Tom's signature contrast stains. Free of any accenting materials, the disc-shaped base of the saddle stem adds a subtle flourishing touch but allows the stellar shaping and gorgeous grain to remain the focal point.
