About This Pipe
The Tubos is perhaps Tom Eltang's oddest creation. It was pretty quirky even back before it became a reverse-Calabash, but definitely got stranger once that extra engineering came in. Playfully proportioned by design, it's what Tom once called his "pipe-shaped" pipe, something he has even accentuated by creating a long-shanked, saddle-stemmed variation. This one comes in at the standard length (which is pretty short and handy), though by the looks of it he did accentuate that charming reversal of breadth, in the relationship between bowl and shank, which is a key part of this shape's curious nature.
