The Jatobá is one of MarTelo's signature shapes, interpreted in various ways across Cunha's portfolio. Its defining feature is a tall, slender bowl that evokes the fruit of the jatobá tree from which it takes its name. This particular rendition departs from the shape's usual flowing curvature, instead embracing a more Acorn-like profile with a sharper, more deliberate structure. The result is a tall bowl framed by crisp ridgelines and set atop a pointed heel, creating a composition that feels satisfying in hand. The transition sits low on the bowl, leading into a slender, gently upturned shank that meets a sleek saddle stem. The stem's shoulders echo the flared horn mount at the junction, reinforcing this piece's cohesive design. Completing the piece is a crisp sandblasted finish that reveals undulating growth rings, which wrap elegantly around the bowl.
