Sandblasted Bent Apple with Durat Tobacco Pipe

One of Portugal's few artisan pipe makers, Sabina Santos is known for her unique, refined style marked by balanced shaping, expert engineering, and stunning finish work. This bent Apple is a prime example of Santos' style with its harmonious shaping, balanced proportions, and handsome medley of materials.

It's a compact design overall, measuring a concise 5.26 inches in total length. Within this tight composition stands a plump, swiftly tapering bowl paired to a round, gently lifting shank and a demurely bent saddle stem. Said stem is fashioned from dusky blue vulcanite, and accented by a band of Durat: a durable, composite material made from recycled plastic that Santos has played a major part in popularizing within the pipe-making sphere. The distinctive, speckled patterning of this material catches the eye, and its overall light coloring adds a pop of brightness to the pipe's otherwise muted palette.
