About This Pipe
Danish artisan Henri Sørensen draws inspiration from the great pipe makers that preceded him, and boasts a style that is both highly distinct and yet reflects a deep, unmistakable reverence for tradition. Distinctive is certainly the word I would use to describe this Acorn, as it's full of flourishes that make it unmistakably Danish and unmistakably "Henri."
There's a delightful plumpness to the bowl, even at the pronounced, softly pointed heel. The bowl takes on a gentle forward cant as it perches at the fore of the subtly flaring, upturned shank, which offers plenty of space to comfortably drape a digit. Said shank is joined by a highly stylized stem of vulcanite, featuring domed shoulders, followed by a trim ring and another pair of pseudo-shoulders that better resemble the traditional saddle style. A raised ring of cumberland also adorns the junction, bridging the gap between the jet-black of the stem, and the rich chestnut stain of the stummel.
