About This Pipe
Streamlined, straight configurations like this aren't exactly common from Danish artisan Lasse Skovgaard, but make no mistake: he can certainly knock one out of the park when the fancy strikes. The low-profile, streamlined nature of the shank and stem here work beautifully to juxtapose and accentuate the seriously plump curvature of the bowl itself, seemingly lending more visual weight, and in turn bringing greater attention to the dense flame grain pattern covering its rounded form. As straightforward as the overall shape itself is, Lasse's done well to imbue even this firmer style of design with a good bit of organicism — namely in the form a craggy plateau crown.
