Bruyere Quaint Billiard (5) (2025) Tobacco Pipe

Dunhill's Quaint series features unique compositions that fall outside of the English marque's standard shape chart, with this Billiard being a fetching example of what the line has to offer. Shape-wise, this piece sees a tall, full-bodied bowl positioned at the fore of a sturdy shank and a slender tapered stem. The Group 5-sized bowl houses a healthy chamber within its softly contoured frame, ensuring plenty of long, leisurely smoking sessions. Sleek in profile and comfortable in hand, this piece is further elevated by the striking Bruyere finish.

The Bruyere was Alfred Dunhill's original finish upon launching his brand of premium pipes and smoking accessories and was the only Dunhill finish from 1910 until 1917. Even after the addition of other finishes, the Bruyere maintained a high level of popularity, becoming synonymous with what is thought of, even today, as the quintessential pipe. To achieve the iconic, ruby hue and saturation, a skilled craftsman painstakingly layers particular stains in a precise manner, then meticulously polishes the pipe to a high luster. The final result is, simply put, timeless.
