About This Pipe
Having entered the world of pipe making at the mere age of 14, Max Rimensi of Il Duca has spent decades mastering his craft. The Italian artisan boasts an eclectic style, his portfolio displaying Danish and German influences, as well as those of his homeland. This bent Stack, for example, boasts the bowl-centric shaping of the Italian neoclassical style, yet it also exhibits the graceful, flowing lines of the Danish style.
In classic Stack fashion, the bowl here boasts a towering presence, and a chamber depth of well over 2.5 inches. These enlarged proportions offer ample opportunity to show off the briar's stunning grain, which Rimensi has read and maximized with aplomb. A long, arcing shank-and-stem arrangement joins the bowl, promoting a relaxed smoking posture in hand — an attribute especially important for long-smoking offerings such as this one. More stunning grain adorns the shank, as well as a mount of pale boxwood that adds an eye-catching yet cohesive flourish to the piece. With its sweeping profile, dramatic proportions, and gorgeous grain, this piece is sure to make a standout addition to any pipe collection.
