About This Pipe
I've never stuck a pencil into a tomato before, but this Scottie Piersel pencil shank Tomato certainly evokes the look of a sharpened Ticonderoga plunged deep into a ripe, squat heirloom. Granted, the fruit in this case is adorned with a craggy plateau crown, but from a tactile standpoint, Scottie has just nailed the plump asymmetry on this piece, as it serves to brilliantly complement the visually delicate, extra-long shank and stem. "Visually" is the key word here, as Scottie's lined the entirety of the thing with a stainless steel insert for added structural stability. Adding to that, she's lent it a stem of a wild lemon, lime and olive green brindle pattern, for a bit of a striking contrast with the more traditional finish.
