Partially Sandblasted Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe

With certain similarities to his Speeding Dublin shape, as well as the carver's Pierced Blowfish, this bent Dublin from Scott Klein displays a forward sense of posture, defined by a continuous sense of curve from aft to fore, both at the top and underside. From the base, the rearward-wrapping tail-like underside frames the "pierced" aesthetic, making for quite a playful look in profile. If it weren't for the abrupt, concave shaping at the fore, and the rim and underside were allowed to continue through to completion, the piece would almost be entirely lenticular in silhouette.

Reinforcing its organic appeal, Scott's dressed the area down below in a lovely gradient-like sandblast, gradually transitioning from a darker blasted birdseye to a gently smooth-dusted spread of rings toward the mount, and left a playful kiss of plateau about the smooth-polished rim to complement it. Going one further, the entirety of the inner-ring made by the shank has been blasted as well, with the right flank dressed to match, and the left finished smooth. Imbued with a fair bit of subtle gesture and asymmetry, it's a piece one can readily imagine growing quite fond of.
