About This Pipe
Balancing an impressive degree of breadth — both in the bowl itself and in the overall width of the shank and transition — with some seriously compact and abbreviated proportions overall, this is quite the striking shape from Scott Klein. Through an Ivarsson-esque teardrop line, Scott's created a deep curling gesture along the underside here, which together with its bundled up, tight-knit proportions give the illusion that the broad Tomato bowl is just resting right atop its scoop-like form. The result is quite striking in profile, offering a sense of bound potential energy, as if it's ready to spring forward at any moment. Given the shape's overall breadth as well, you can expect this one to fit right at home in hand, and offer a stimulating texture too, due to its tight, very well executed sandblast.
