Sandblasted Bent Dublin with Boxwood Tobacco Pipe

Ken'ichiro Dederichs-Uchida began his journey in Japan, later relocating to Germany where he produces fine pipes to the highest standards, prioritizing quality over quantity. His designs often reveal strong organic cues, referencing Japanese and Danish styles, with this fine bent Dublin being a fine example. The overall form is reminiscent of Dederichs' Mushroom design, though more streamlined, and with a seamless, Horn-like transition. The composition focuses on the bowl, which ebbs out from the transition, flaring wide at a particularly broad, strongly domed, organically undulating rim. Out back, the shank narrows as it meets a slim boxwood accent at its junction to a hand-cut vulcanite saddle stem, comfortably bent for easy clenching. The organic stummel is dressed in a crisp black sandblast, revealing subtly textured growth rings and birdseye, handsomely contrasted by the broad expanse of swirling smooth birdseye around the auburn-hued rim.
