Rind Pure Bent Billiard (2025) Tobacco Pipe

One of the most recognizable marques in Italy today, the Radice workshop was founded in 1980 when Luigi Radice decided to embark on a new pipe-making journey alongside his two sons, Gianluca and Marzio. Previously, Luigi made pipes for Castello, and before that, Caminetto. Under his new namesake brand, he offered high-quality pipes carved in the unmistakable Italian neoclassical style. He experimented with innovative new designs, new rusticating and carving styles, and oil curing. This Rind Pure bent Billiard showcases several of the aforementioned techniques, which are still used by the marque to this day.

The bowl of this Billiard is quite tall, with plenty of room for a favorite tobacco blend, and it boasts a substantial in-hand presence thanks to its tall walls and full, muscular heel. Out back, the shank-and-stem arrangement is tightly knit, with the saddle stem taking on a deep bend at the bit to promote a comfortable smoking posture. Void of any stain, this Pure piece allows the natural coloring of the briar to take center stage, although with time and use it's sure to develop a charming patina. Moreover, the Rind rustication adds some tactile intrigue, its craggy texture sure to keep the fingertips engaged.
