About This Pipe

Straight and structured, this Billiard from Michael Parks displays firm lines and long length in a classic shape modified by Michael's discerning artistic sensibilities. The color scheme is subdued but rife with interest, from the variegated vulcanite of the stem in beige and black with rippling waves of patterning, to the traditionally hued stummel in contrast stain, to the well-grained accent of horn.

The accent is particularly noteworthy, as it's rare to find horn so geometrically shaped, as it is here to match the squared paneling of the shank and stem. It's a long stretch from the bowl to the lip button, with this pipe measuring more than six inches in length. The precision of the paneling is also meritorious, and particularly noted from an aerial perspective. The rim is sandblasted but provides a smooth, chamfered circle around the tobacco chamber, while the sandblasted growth rings that traverse the vertical presence of the bowl are deep and consistent.

In profile, it's classically proportioned save for the additional length, and for those who enjoy the structure of paneled pipes, it should cause some interest. it's a joy to see such immaculate precision maintained even with such a deep blast, and this classic shape is distinctive and impressive, easily commending itself in any collection.
