About This Pipe
An exercise in minimalism as well as implied movement and flow, this Horn from Jared Coles is a handy wonder. Despite the narrow, circular chamber, it sports an ovular form, though Jared has lent it a subtle sense of twist as the eye moves from mortise to rim. The grain pattern is diagonally-oriented, with lively licks of cross-grain visible on both flanks, complemented by vast seas of birdseye to both the upper and lower sides, all highlighted by a warm, vibrant contrast stain.
