About This Pipe
The last Acorn we saw from Peter Heding took quite a turn towards the compact, with a lot of plump, curling briar packed into about a 5.60" total length. Here he's gone from one extreme to the other, producing a longer stretch of smoothly contoured briar in far more slender proportions. It's all about long, easy lines here, with even the bowl, a neat bulb-like thing though it is, defined mainly by its longer, slighter, vertical-traveling curves. Giving the whole a bit of more active gesture, a very light upward turn of the shank precedes the lifting transition itself, and playing along with that the rim has been given a just-right degree of rearward cant, bringing up its forward edge.
