About This Pipe
Anniversaries are important moments in all our lives, especially for artisanal pipe makers. The culmination of their craft can be traced back year after year, learning and growing their art with each piece created. 20th Anniversaries, then, are quite special — a testament to two decades worth of experience and dedication. As such, it comes to no surprise to see Gabriele presenting us with a truly gorgeous piece to commemorate such an occasion.
The shape itself is a powerful, muscular take on the bent Dublin, defined by clean, elegant lines and stout proportions. Finished in a virgin polish, it should take nicely to a patina developed with age and enjoyment, while still highlighting some spectacular flame and straight grain patterns in its natural contrast. For the accent, he went with something a little out of the ordinary, a special addition for a special piece — warthog tusk. The result is a rather organic aesthetic that complements the form well.
