About This Pipe
This Brandy bowl's wide proportions are hallmarks of the Danish style of pipemaking, especially when in conjunction with a softly rounded rim and large diameter shank. This piece is a nosewarmer, or very close to it, at just under five inches long. A glowing contrast stain distinguishes the grain, which is tight and consistent, and the tapered mouthpiece balances from the other end. Easy to slip into a pocket, with a large enough bowl to satisfy, and featuring high-grade Danish engineering, this piece is not only a looker, but an irresistible classic. And who better than Hans "Former" Nielsen to render such a classic? With almost 60 years of experience, including ten years supervising the W.Ø. Larsen workshop, where he trained many of the best carvers we know today, Former has the background, creativity, and skill set to achieve the closest thing to mastery in pipemaking.
