Smooth Acorn with Silver Tobacco Pipe

We've seen this type of Acorn from Tom before — tall, well-tapered, and with a delightfully plump bevel to its rim. Though I'd more expect to see it wearing one of Tom's bamboo shank extensions, this piece is all briar, with plenty of sinuous lift and a mild S-curve in profile to give it some easy grace, as well as a neatly balanced weight in hand. Finished in one of his darker contrast stains, there's some truly impressive straight grain on the left flank, with plenty of flame on the right, its warm tones all cleverly highlighted by a crisp band of sterling silver.
