About This Pipe
The Elephant's Foot is an iconic shape from Tom Eltang, but that doesn't mean we've seen a lot of them. Indeed, according to our archives, this is only the 15th we've received fresh from the carver, and it's quite stunning. Slightly more compact overall that past renditions, this fellow is crisp of line and sculptural to boot, with a more slender, less bulbous bowl canted forward just past the transition. Of course, Tom's still used the briar to great effect, with a full heel's worth of vivid birdseye framed with cross-grain at the left and right (fitting for its Snail grade). And it's all highlighted by one of the carver's stunning contrasts, complemented by a creamy stretch of horn for the mount.
