About This Pipe

Though this may be the first example to hit our site as new, this isn't an unfamiliar Tom Eltang shape. In fact, it's his signature take on the Calabash — equipped with a fully functional, hollowed out cooling chamber and removable boxwood cap. The exterior follows the smooth taper and sinuous bend of the internal engineering — emulating the silhouette of the classic gourd iterations of the shape.

Tom's finished the piece in an extra-dark, ebony sandblast, revealing layer after layer of concentric growth rings, stacked neatly as they undulate up from the sweeping base. A broad, sterling silver band adds a touch of flash, balancing out the warm hues of the boxwood cap with that of cool metal. Given all that, it's not surprising to find Tom's prestigious "Snail" stamp present in the nomenclature. An exceptional piece!
