About This Pipe

Il Duca pipes are handmade in Italy by Max Rimensi, the name "Il Duca" honoring the historic rulers of his hometown Ferrara. His design style often favors slender shapes, exuding a high degree of refinement and elegance and spanning classic and more avant-garde shapes alike. This bent Dublin is among those more Freehand designs, yet it still exudes the sleek, refined aesthetic for which the Italian artisan has become known.

Surpassing seven inches in length, this is a substantial pipe from Rimensi, and it's fitted to a bowl of considerably size. Though clearly a Dublin with its upward flare, the bowl is a creative interpretation, expanding broadly in profile yet remaining quite trim when viewed from above. The rim, likewise, has been creatively rendered, demarcated by a crisp ridgeline to delineate the inflated aspect toward the tobacco chamber. Contrasting the bowl's size, the shank is extended by a trim section of dark bamboo, appearing as though a branch is holding a blossom at the end. Rimensi's signature contrast stain highlights the sandblasted briar in crimson and ebony hues, making this distinctive piece easily recognized as the esteemed Italian's work.
